Profile: Mikaya Heart I value my connection to spirit, which pervades everything
I do. My path has been one of ferreting out the truth in all areas of my
life, beginning with the decision to stop lying to myself. I talk and write
about what is real for me, and I honor that in others. My relationship to
nature has always been a primary source of healing for me, and I don't spend
a lot of time in cities.
Expertise: Like many women, I had some unpleasant sexual experiences
in my childhood. In my thirties, after coming out as a lesbian, I did
a lot of work on myself, and with the help of some wonderful friends and
some very good therapy, sex is now one of the greatest joys in my life.
In 1998 I wrote When the Earth Moves: Women and Orgasm, which
was the result of years of research, and many in-depth interviews, as
well as my own observations.
I am also the author of The Straight Woman's Guide to Lesbianism.
I counsel women on sexual issues, and give talks on women's sexuality
all over the country, as well as abroad; talking about sex in public comes
easily to me and I enjoy it enormously!

Profile: Anne Seman My interest
in accurate sex education was sparked by the nun who taught my eighth grade
religion class and counseled us to "think of a hamburger when you find your
thoughts straying to the impure--it will distract you." Suspecting that
God really didn't intend for us to choose between two things as wonderful
as sex and food, I made a point of learning as much about sex as I could.
I've spent the last 15 years educating myself and others about the wonders
of sex, primarily through my writing (see below) and my work with two women's
sex toy stores, Libida.com and Good Vibrations.
Since becoming a mom, I've turned my attention to the sexuality of both
mothers and their children. I believe that all people, including children,
deserve information about their sexuality in order to lead more fulfilling
lives, which is what inspired my newest book, The Mother's Guide to Sex.
I'm a single mom living with my five-year-old daughter in San Francisco.

Publications:
- The Mother's Guide to Sex: Enjoying Your Sexuality Through all Stages
of Motherhood (Random, 2001)
- The Woman's Guide to Sex on the Web (Harper San Francisco, 1999)
- The New Good Vibrations Guide to Sex: Tips and Techniques from America's
Favorite Toy Store (Cleis, 1997)
- Sex Toy Tales (an erotic anthology) (Down There Press, 1998)These
were all co-authored with my good friend and colleague, Cathy Winks.

Profile: Joanne Marrow, Ph.D My life has been a quest for understanding the spiritual, physical and emotional
nature of love and bliss. This guided my childhood in a loving Polish family in Chicago and my two and a
half years as a Maryknoll nun. I deepened my intellectual search to understand the nature of love and bliss
as a graduate student in Florida and I continue it as a university researcher and teacher.
Dedicated to personal freedom and autonomy, I never married, but have practiced my sexuality with a
series of intimate partners. I live in the foothills of the northern Sierras outside of Sacramento, CA.
Love of wilderness takes me to remote preserves in Siberia, Alaska, Africa, Costa Rica, Mexico and
Canada where I camp and kayak.
My work with clients is to lead them to the calm inner center where their deep spirit-centered wisdom
resides. From this center they find the clarity and strength to make life transformations.
Expertise: I received my Ph.D. from Florida State University in 1974 in psychology. Since 1974 I
have been a tenured professor at CSU,Sacramento. I have taught Psychology of Women, Human Sexuality, Death
and Dying, and Stress Management for over 20 years. I have been a licensed psychologist in California for
20 years. I have presented many scholarly papers on sexuality at academic conferences. My book, Changing
Positions. Women speak out on sex and desire, is the result of over 350 interviews with women of all sexual
orientations on their sexual life stories. I have appeared on national television and radio. I teach
weekend workshops on dream analysis, women?s sexuality and self-hypnosis in Nevada City, CA.

Founder, President and Vulvalutionary
Profile: Dorrie Lane The beginning of my advocacy for sex education and women's health, started in 1988, when I experienced the loss of a close friend to AIDS. Because of this and being a single parent to teenagers, my attention was focussed on sexual health issues. As a private investigator, I was very adept at research. I researched reports from the CDC in Atlanta, SF AIDS Foundation and educated myself on sexual transmission of diseases in women.
In 1989 I began developing performance pieces in local Lesbian sex clubs around the theme of safer sex and Vulva health. I demonstrated and developed fun and educational safer sex techniques. I also became a sex mentor to many, many teenagers here in San Francisco. In 1990, I was an instructor for Female Ejaculation classes. I have produced 7 videos, "How to Have a Sex Party", "The Magic of Female Ejaculation", How to Find your G-Spot,and the
Masturbation Memoirs series.
I created the Wondrous Vulva Puppet in 1993 and continue to sew each one which is probably around 4,000 now. The puppet is used around the world as a tool for sex education, Tantra, STD and HIV prevention, and healing from sexual abuse crimes.
Sex through The Eyes of Women, is my way of expressing the importance of women sharing their experiences, knowledge and healing through storytelling, seminars, videos and these classes on the web.
I am currently a Breast and Gynecological Teaching Associate at Stanford School of Medicine; University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and at Touro University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. So now I'm able to influence the next generation of doctors in the areas of Sex Education and Female Ejaculation. My goal is to recruit Vulvalutionaries all over the world.
